Huge Success: MERI Stock Hit Upper Auto-Rejection (ARA) at 34.38% Surge, Surpassing 1 Million Share Orders

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, PT Merry Riana Edukasi Tbk (MERI) officially made its debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). At the opening of trading, MERI’s share price jumped by 34.38% or 44 points to IDR 172 per share, immediately hitting the Upper Auto-Rejection limit (ARA).

IDX data showed that MERI’s shares traded at a volume of 440,582 shares, with a total transaction value of IDR 7.58 billion from 6,212 transactions just in the opening session. This education company offered 235,132,500 shares to the public through its Initial Public Offering (IPO), equal to 22.72% of its total issued shares.

MERI set its IPO price at IDR 128 per share, successfully raising IDR 30.09 billion. The IPO received a very strong response from investors. Total orders reached over 1 million shares, far above the number of shares offered.

"We didn’t wait to be big to go public. We went public so we can grow bigger and make a bigger impact," said Merry Riana, Founder and President Commissioner of PT Merry Riana Edukasi Tbk, at the IDX building on Thursday (10/7). Merry Riana added that going public is not the end but the start of MERI’s next big step. She also committed not to sell her shares for the next five years.

Hemanto Tanoko, Founder of Tancorp, also showed full support for MERI’s future growth. After the IPO, Tancorp will continue to help MERI expand its business. "We will do mergers and acquisitions, open more branches, and provide more non-formal education programs that can benefit the people of Indonesia," he said.

Merry Riana explained that the IPO funds will be used strategically: 65% will go towards expanding the Merry Riana Learning Centre network through partnerships and leases. The remaining 35% will be used to strengthen the Merry Riana Event programs such as Life Camp, Leadership Camp, and Billionaire Camp, including hiring, training, marketing, and developing digital infrastructure.
