Every great journey never starts with luxury. Sometimes, he is actually born in an unexpected place, like a small garage that was almost drowned by the Jakarta floods. However, in that simple place, the seed of that dream was planted.

In 2014, when Merry Riana decided to return to Indonesia after 16 successful years of building a business in Singapore, Jakarta welcomed her not with a red carpet or a big stage. On the contrary, Jakarta at that time was paralyzed by flooding. Water flooded the streets, forcing many people to surrender to the situation.

But not for Merry Riana, the water hasn't receded yet, but her spirit is still burning. He knows that, amidst limitations, hope can grow. Together with her small team, Merry Riana wants to create change for children and teenagers in Indonesia through education. A place where dreams that were almost extinguished can be rekindled. "We don't sell dreams. We live dreams,"said Merry Riana, Founder and Main Commissioner of Merry Riana Education."We don't just teach theory. We instill courage, character and leadership," he added.

From a program called Life Camp, the embryo of Merry Riana Education was born. One by one, that dream grew into three pillars: Merry Riana Events, Merry Riana Learning Center, and Merry Riana Digital Learning. From one child in one class, it has now become hundreds of thousands of children and teenagers throughout Indonesia. This journey was not built overnight. There were no big investors at the start. There are no grand facilities. There is only belief: that education is not only about test scores, but the value of life.

From this belief, it finally attracted the attention of people who also believed in this great vision. One of them is conglomerate entrepreneur from Surabaya Hermanto Tanoko, founder of TanCorp and owner of large companies such as Avian and Cleo. He joined as a strategic investor, not only because of the business potential, but because he saw something more important: the mission to create a superior generation for Indonesia. "I believe character education is the foundation of the nation and Merry Riana Education carries that flame," he said.

In the past year, Merry Riana Education's growth has accelerated. From 21 points, there are now 34 Merry Riana Learning Center locations spread from Medan to Jayapura (as of December 2024). The peak will be at the end of 2024: Merry Riana Education breaks the MURI record as the Public Speaking Training Institution with the most participants and receives the IPSA award(Indonesian Professional Speakers Association).

Today, Merry Riana Education is preparing to step into a new phase of being listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Merry Riana Education has been prepared with new innovations, wider expansion, and enthusiasm that remains alive, just like the first time Merry Riana Education faced a flood that almost drowned it, starting from a garage, without investors. “We don't have a big wait togo public. Wego publicso that it can become bigger and have a wider impact," concluded Merry Riana.
