Pacitan is now entering a new chapter on the national tourism map after the foundation stone was laid on November 29 2025 for the construction of the Goed President Hotel. Not just a building, this hotel, which was built on an area of ​​more than 1.1 hectares, is a form of long-term commitment and the key to unlocking Pacitan's potential to be more advanced, competitive and known to the world.

This big idea came from the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono together with national businessman Hermanto Tanoko. Among the owners, Merry Riana was also present, strengthening the spirit of cross-generational collaboration for the progress of Pacitan.

Present on this occasion were Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) and his wife Aliya Rajasa, Deputy Minister of ATR/BPR Ossy Dermawan, Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak, Regent of Pacitan Indrata Nur Bayuaji as well as a number of national figures and entrepreneurs such as Dr. Oei Hong Djien (a leading art collector in Indonesia), James Riady, Teguh Kinarto, HK Slamet Santoso, Hanjaya Adikarjo and others. Separately, culinary content creator Bobon Santoso was also present to cheer on the eventgroundbreakingconstruction of the Goed President Hotel by serving the proud menu "soto Pacitan" to 1,200 local residents. The construction and operations of the Goed President Hotel were carried out by a consortium led by Hermanto Tanoko, in collaboration with Tanrise (PT Jaya Sukses Makmur Sentosa Tbk) as operator and strategic partner. The target is a star-rated boutique hotel withpositioning premium-upscaleThis will start operating in 2027.

Hermanto Tanoko revealed that the use of the words Goed President was a form of sincere respect for a leader who was born and raised in Pacitan, namely referring to the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

"We are witnesses to the history of how Mr. SBY dedicated his life to leading Indonesia for 10 years. That was a golden decade, where Indonesia experienced stability, peace and mature democracy under his leadership," said Hermanto Tanoko.

The construction of the Goed President Hotel Pacitan is expected to be a strategic first step to build an international meeting ecosystem while strengthening the tourism sector, paving the way for Pacitan to enter the global stage. SBY hopes that his hometown can grow like Davos, Switzerland.
