Merry Riana Education (Meri) Officially Lantled on the IDX: Beginning of the Great Legacy in the World of Indonesian Education

Thursday, July 10, 2025, marks a historic milestone for the education sector in Indonesia. PT Merry Riana Edukasi Tbk (stock code: MERI) has officially been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Development Board, making it the first education and self-development company to go public with a spirit of building the future of the younger generation.

“Today is not only historic for me personally but also for the entire MERI family, and for anyone who believes that dreams, faith, and hard work can take us far,” said Merry Riana, Founder and President Commissioner of PT Merry Riana Edukasi Tbk, during the first listing ceremony at the IDX Building, Jakarta.

This historic moment was enthusiastically celebrated by hundreds of MERI team members — known as “Warriors” — through a flash mob in the back yard of IDX. With songs and cheers typical of their struggle, the Warriors celebrated their long journey from a small garage to the stock exchange floor, illustrating how big dreams can grow from consistent simple steps.

Since the first trading session, MERI’s stock immediately hit the Auto Rejection Atas (ARA) limit, soaring 34.38% to Rp172. Not stopping there, MERI’s stock hit ARA for six consecutive days and became the Top Gainer. However, Merry Riana always emphasizes that MERI’s stock is not just about today’s price, but about the potential and much greater value in the years to come.

In this long-term spirit, Merry Riana and Alva Tjenderasa as founders, made a rare and bold decision: locking all of their shares for a full five years. “We have signed a commitment letter which we have submitted to the Exchange not to sell a single share until 2030,” said Merry Riana. “Because we didn’t build this to sell. We built it to grow — together with you.”

The presence of Hermanto Tanoko, a national entrepreneur and founder of Tancorp Group, as a strategic investor further strengthens MERI’s position. Hermanto marks MERI as the 9th company he has successfully brought to the stock exchange. “The business prospects of MERI are very promising. We will continue to expand our reach through mergers and acquisitions, adding new branches, and strengthening the non-formal education needed by the wider community,” said Hermanto.
